Each year, the Tewaaraton Foundation awards the Tewaaraton Native American Scholarship to one male and one female student. The scholarship honors high school students of Haudenosaunee heritage who achieve academic excellence, and exemplify high character and leadership both on and off the lacrosse field.
2025 Tewaaraton Outstanding Native American/Haudenosaunee Scholarship applications are now open. Part 1 applications are due by April 15, 2025.
2024 Scholarship Recipients
Avery Doran, Bear Clan of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe

Avery graduated from Hotchkiss School in 2024 where she was an outstanding multi-sport student athlete and 2024 captain of her lacrosse team. Currently enrolled at Brown University this fall, Avery represented the Haudenosaunee Nationals U20 Women's team in Hong Kong, as well as a member of the Women's National team that competed at the 2023 PALA Sixes Cup in Jamaica.
Brett Bucktooth, Jr, Wolf Clan of the Akwesasne Mohawk Nation

Brett is a graduate of LaFayette Central High School where he played lacrosse three years and was a two time Captain. Brett attended college-preparatory school at Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Massachusetts this past year. Brett attends Syracuse University where he is a member of the lacrosse team.
